Llum
This is a look from one of my five mirage-inspired collections. This collection focuses on astigmatism.
Astigmatism is a condition that affects the eyes and visual perception, commonly distorting the appearance of light. From an epistemological perspective, what those with astigmatism see can be considered an illusion: an altered reality that often requires correction. Yet, there is an overlooked beauty in this unique way of seeing.
In my experience with astigmatism, I have always loved the exaggerated and stretched lights of traffic and car headlights on a rainy night. This collection seeks to capture the mirage in this altered perception of the world. This specific garment reflects the way car headlights appear through the eyes of someone with astigmatism.
